The cozy front porch stretches across the front of the cabin and makes it look more classic "cabin-esque" and gives it a more rustic-looking appeal. Both the front porch and the back patio make for wonderful places to hang out, bar-b-que, chat with friends, and enjoy the quiet nature of it all!
I put new gas pipe in the cabin in case you want to install propane heater/s or stove/oven.
Projects I'm DONE with or am just finishing up include:
1. (Finished!) Made a new back door;
2. (Done! 10/26/15) Build a patio out back, see pictures;
3. (Done!) Trim back overgrown cedars, but keep the wilderness look and feel;
4. (Done!) Clean roof and gutters;
5. (DONE!, it's a small cabin!) Finish cleaning...
6. (DONE!) Put new ceiling in bedroom's insulated ceiling, vintage corrugated steel panels to give a rustic look to the ceiling.)
7. (DONE!) I got the new water line put in and buried from the meter at the street to the house! Re-plumbed the cabin with new pex!)
9. (DONE!) Upgraded the electrical service system with new pole, meter box, and breaker box!
10. (DONE!) Patch some small front porch cracks.
11. (DONE!) Paint the front porch. (Well, I need to apply one more coat on the ceiling of the front porch!)
12. (DONE!) Put fresh-cut cedar posts up on the 5 upright posts on the front porch.
13. (Done!) Replace kitchen sink, counter and other kitchen counters and back splash on the kitchen sink area.
The bedroom is about 21' wide and 9 feet deep and the ceiling is vaulted.
The trees keep the cabin cooler in the summer heat and block the late-afternoon sun. A small window unit and a ceiling fan will keep the cabin cool with little effort.
I have landscaped the yard and front porch with cedar logs giving it a rustic look and feel (see pics!).
Might consider trades for part or all: a cruising sailboat, or lot or cabin in Houston or Galveston area. Prefer Bolivar Peninsula lot, but Texas coastal lot/acreage works for me...
